  • Iris Pugh Monty, 64, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2015. Mrs. Monty was born in Greenville, MS. She served as a probation/parole officer for the MS Department of Corrections. Additionally, Mrs. Monty owned and operated a private probation office known as Count Network in Greenville, MS.

    Mrs. Monty was the daughter of Robert and Opal Pugh. She has 1 sister: Brenda (C.W.) Doss, 1 brother: W.L. (Connie) Snell. Mrs. Monty is the mother of 2 children: Tabatha (Robert Lee) Monty-Tillman, and Robert Van Monty, 1 step-daughter: Natalie Christina (Mark) Hodges. She is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Robert Monty. She has 6 grandchildren: Alexis Tillman, Brittany Tillman, Robert Van Tillman, Robert Mason Monty, Will Hughes, and Alan Hughes, 1 great-grandchild: Joslyn Robertson. She also has a very special nephew, Nolan Reed Turner of Jackson, MS; and a host of beautiful, wonderful and truly loved friends.

    Iris was one of the most lovable people I have ever known. I was friends with her in high school but as life happens we lost touch. I saw her at our 40th reunion and then had the privilege of running into her about a year later. She never changed - was full of laughter and a quick wit!! May she rest in peace!!

    We are very sad to hear that Iris has gone to her reward. She will be sorely missed. She was a beautiful, giving lady, an inspiration to all.
